ITINERARY

Day 1: Sun. May 10 – HONOLULU: Depart Honolulu
Enjoy your journey through the skies and prepare for the wonderful adventure that awaits you in Japan. 

Day 2: Mon. May 11 – CENTRAIR HOTEL 
Welcome to Japan! Upon arrival at Centrair International Airport, complete the immigration procedures. After checking in at the hotel, take some time to unwind and prepare for the upcoming day. Put your feet up, relax, and get ready for the BASEBALL & SUMO WITH SNOW WALL TOUR. 

Day 3: Tue. May 12 – MERCURE HIDA TAKAYMA (Onsen)
This morning, we’ll visit Seki City, known as Japan’s premier sword-making town with a legacy that dates back over 700 years. Revered for its master swordsmiths and exceptional blade craftsmanship, Seki continues to uphold the spirit of bushido through its dedication to precision and tradition.While in Seki, we’ll stop by Hamono-ya Sanshu, a renowned cutlery shop where centuries of technique are reflected in each finely crafted blade. From kitchen knives to traditional tools, the artistry on display here offers a direct connection to Japan’s storied samurai heritage.Afterward, we’ll enjoy seasonal fruit picking, a refreshing activity that offers a taste of the region’s natural abundance. Harvest ripe, flavorful fruits directly from the orchard—a peaceful contrast to the sharp focus of the bladesmith’s art. We’ll return to our hotel afterward to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Day 4: Wed. May 13 – DOUBLE TREE BY HILTON TOYAMA
This morning, we’ll journey to Gokayama, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its peaceful mountain setting and traditional gassho-zukuri thatched-roof homes. These steep-roofed structures reflect a lifestyle rooted in harmony with nature and centuries-old craftsmanship. A walk through this preserved village offers a glimpse into Japan’s rural past.Then, we’ll head to S.O. Sports Kogyo, a specialized factory that produces high-quality baseball bats used by professional players. Each bat is carefully crafted, combining traditional woodworking techniques with the passion and discipline at the heart of Japan’s love for baseball. It’s a rare opportunity to see where craftsmanship and sport intersect.After a day filled with history, culture, and craft, we’ll return to our hotel to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.

Day 5: Thu. May 14 – DOUBLE TREE BY HILTON TOYAMA
Today, we’ll experience the breathtaking Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, one of Japan’s most spectacular scenic journeys through the Northern Japan Alps. At the heart of the route near Murodo, we’ll encounter the iconic Snow Wall (Yuki no Otani)—a dramatic passage where snow walls soar up to 20 meters high, creating a truly awe-inspiring sight. As May arrives, the deep snow begins to melt, gradually revealing the cider-blue surface of the alpine lakes, adding another layer of beauty to the landscape. This seasonal transformation makes the journey even more captivating, blending towering snow with glistening spring water. After this unforgettable encounter with Japan’s alpine majesty, we’ll return to the hotel to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 6: Fri. May 15 – LOTTE ARAI RESORT  (Onsen)
This morning, we’ll head to Kaniya Yokocho in Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture—a lively seafood market known for its fresh catches and local charm. Itoigawa is also the hometown of Yokozuna Ōnosato, who trained at Niigata Prefectural Kaiyou High School, a school known for its bunbu ryōdō philosophy—balancing academics and physical training. Their communal lifestyle, where even “eating is part of training,” reflects the discipline that shaped this sumo champion.Next, we’ll visit the Joetsu City Aquarium (Umigatari), a modern marine facility showcasing the Sea of Japan’s underwater world. A highlight is a massive tank replicating Joetsu’s coastal seabed at 1/10,000 scale, home to around 38,000 marine creatures—including sardine schools, Asian sheepshead wrasse, and eagle rays. It’s a vivid and immersive look into Japan’s marine biodiversity.After a day of discovery and cultural pride, we’ll return to our hotel to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s journey.

Day 7: Sat. May 16 – AMBIENT TATESHINA HOTEL (Onsen) or Similar
.This morning, we’ll begin with a visit to the Floral Garden Obuse, a tranquil botanical garden known for its seasonal blooms and elegant landscaping. Depending on the time of year, local events or special exhibitions may add extra charm to your visit. Next, we’ll head to Raiden Kurumi no Sato, home to the Raiden Tameemon Memorial Museum. Born in present-day Tōmi City, Raiden was a legendary sumo wrestler of the late Edo period. At 197 cm and 169 kg, he rose to prominence at age 18, achieving a stunning record of 254 wins and only 10 losses, the highest winning percentage in sumo history. The museum displays his ceremonial apron, ranking charts, and other artifacts, offering insight into the strength and spirit of this iconic figure.In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Komoro Distillery, a small-batch whisky maker set in Nagano’s serene highlands. Learn about their craft on a guided tour and enjoy a tasting of whisky shaped by the region’s clean air and natural spring water.  After a day filled with nature, tradition, and cultural pride, we’ll return to our hotel to unwind and prepare for tomorrow’s journey.

Day 8: Sun. May 17 – HOTEL KASUGAI  (Onsen) 
Today, we’ll journey along the scenic Venus Line, a picturesque route through the highlands of Nagano offering wide-open views of mountains, forests, and skies—a peaceful way to begin the day.Our first stop is Marui Ito Shoten, a traditional miso brewery with over a century of history. Using wooden barrels and kuratsuki kōbo (natural brewery yeast), they produce rich, flavorful Shinshu miso. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the brewing process and taste a variety of their handcrafted miso.Next, we’ll visit the Shingen Museum, which honors the life and legacy of Takeda Shingen, one of Japan’s most iconic samurai warlords. The exhibits showcase his armor, weapons, and historical documents, providing insight into the bushido spirit and Sengoku-era warfare. An optional visit to the nearby Shingen Shrine offers a deeper connection to his memory.After a day steeped in natural beauty, history, and traditional flavors, we’ll return to our hotel in Isawa Onsen, a historic hot spring town linked to Takeda Shingen. Once a refuge for warriors, it’s still a popular retreat for sumo wrestlers today. Surrounded by nature and warm hospitality, it’s the perfect place to relax and recharge.

Day 9: Mon. May 18 – HOTEL KASUGAI  (Onsen)
This morning, we’ll begin with a leisurely cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, one of the iconic Fuji Five Lakes. As we glide across the calm waters, enjoy stunning views of Mt. Fuji, mirrored on the lake’s surface—a serene and unforgettable way to start the day. Next, we’ll visit the Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum, a charming European-style garden and museum nestled near the lake. The museum features a collection of antique music boxes, mechanical instruments, and live musical performances, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Mt. Fuji. The fusion of sound, art, and landscape creates a magical atmosphere that captures both elegance and whimsy.For lunch, we’ll enjoy a hearty bowl of hōtō, a regional specialty of Yamanashi Prefecture. This comforting dish features thick, chewy noodles stewed with seasonal vegetables in a rich miso-based broth—perfect for warming both body and soul.After a day of beauty and culture, we’ll return to the hotel to rest.

Day 10: Tue. May 19 – TOKYO DOME HOTEL
This morning, while staying in Kofu, we’ll enjoy a seasonal fruit-picking experience in one of Japan’s most renowned fruit-producing regions. With its sunny climate, cool evenings, and fertile land,Take this opportunity to harvest and taste fresh, ripe fruit straight from the orchard—a refreshing and flavorful way to start the day while embracing the natural charm of Yamanashi.Next, we’ll visit the Suntory Musashino Brewery, a renowned facility that produces some of Japan’s most beloved beers. Here, you’ll gain insight into the meticulous brewing process—from ingredient selection to fermentation—and learn what makes Suntory’s beer stand out.Interestingly, the beer made at this very brewery is the same refreshing draft served at baseball stadiums across Japan, famously carried by beer girls weaving through the stands. At the end of the tour, you’ll enjoy a tasting of freshly brewed beer, capping off the visit with a familiar flavor tied to the excitement of Japan’s baseball culture.After a day of sweet flavors and crisp refreshment, we’ll return to our hotel to relax and prepare for tomorrow’s journey.

Day 11: Wed. May 20 – TOKYO DOME HOTEL 
This morning, we’ll visit the Japan Olympic Museum, located near the iconic National Stadium in Tokyo. This interactive museum celebrates Japan’s Olympic history and the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and global unity. Through dynamic exhibits, memorabilia, and multimedia displays, you’ll gain insight into Japan’s contributions to the Olympic Games and the enduring spirit of competition and excellence. Later in the day, we’ll head to a professional baseball game, where you can experience the energy and excitement of one of Japan’s most beloved sports. From the lively cheering sections to the famous beer vendors moving through the stands, the stadium atmosphere is electric. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the game, watching baseball live in Japan is an unforgettable cultural experience that perfectly captures the passion and community spirit of the sport. After the game, we’ll return to our hotel to relax and reflect on a day filled with sports history and live excitement.

Day 12: Thu. May 21 – TOKYO DOME HOTEL
This morning, we’ll begin with a rare opportunity to observe a sumo practice session (asageiko) up close. Watching the wrestlers train reveals the intense discipline, ritual, and respect that define this ancient sport—a living expression of bushido.For lunch, we’ll enjoy a hearty serving of chanko-nabe, the classic hot pot dish favored by sumo wrestlers. Rich in flavor and tradition, it’s a delicious taste of sumo culture.After lunch, we’ll visit the Sumo Museum, where exhibits of ceremonial aprons, historical rankings, and legendary matches offer a deeper understanding of sumo’s rich heritage.In the afternoon, we’ll attend a live sumo tournament, where ceremonial pageantry meets raw athleticism. From entrance rituals to powerful bouts, this experience captures the drama and depth of Japan’s national sport.  (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)

Day 13: Fri. May 22 – HANEDA to HONOLULU 
At checkout time the guide will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to the airport. After check-out we will head to Haneda International Airport, and board a flight  to Honolulu. We will arrive at Honolulu in the same morning.

Children's Travel Fare Policy:
Ages 0–2 (under 3 years old): Free of charge (when not using a separate seat, meal, or bed)

Ages 3–6: 50% off the regular fare
Ages 7–11: 30% off the regular fare
Ages 12 and over: Full adult fare applies
Age is based on the child's age on the day of departure.
If a seat, meal, or bed is required for children under 3, additional charges may apply.
An extra bed will be charged at the regular rate regardless of age.

45 days prior to departure – Full refund
44-30 days prior: 50% cancel fee of the tour price, per person charge
29-15 days prior: 75% cancel fee of the tour price, per person charge
14 days prior or less: 100% cancel fee of the tour price, per person, no refund.

GENERAL CONDITIONS TOUR INCLUDES:
Hotel accommodations, transfers, and sightseeing. Adjustments will be made if there is an increase in fuel surcharges and any fluctuation in exchange rates between US Dollars and Japanese Yen.

AIR TRANSPORTATION:
Air service within tours is included except for people buying the land portion only.
Airfare inclusive rates are based on advanced purchase and may be subject to certain airline restrictions and penalties. Adjustments will be made if there is any increase on taxes.

PASSPORTS:
All clients are reminded that a valid passport is necessary in all cases.
The cost of obtaining these documents will be the responsibility of the traveler.

IF THE TOUR OPERATOR CANCELS:
Should RNL Tours, LLC. cancel a departure for any reason, your money will be fully refunded.
