Day 1: Sun. Mar 29 – HONOLULU: Depart Honolulu
Enjoy your journey through the skies and prepare for the wonderful adventure that awaits you in Japan.
Day 2: Mon. Mar 30 – HOTEL NIKKO KANSAI AIRPORT
Welcome to Japan! Upon arrival at either Kansai International Airport, complete the immigration procedures. After checking in at the hotel, take some time to unwind and prepare for the upcoming day. Put your feet up, relax, and get ready for the DISCOVER KII PENINSULA TOUR.
Day 3: Tue. Mar 31 – WAKAYAMA MARINA CITY HOTEL
This morning, we'll embark on a journey to explore Yayoi Culture at the Osaka Prefectural Yayoi Culture Museum, a unique institution dedicated to this period. The Yayoi era marked the introduction of rice cultivation in Japan and offers intriguing insights into the country's history and lifestyle during this crucial time. Following our visit, we'll head to the Kishiwada Danjiri Museum. Here, you'll be immersed in the rich history of the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival, which boasts a 300-year legacy. The museum's event area showcases authentic danjiri floats, and a 27-panel multi-screen brings the festival's vibrancy to life with captivating reenactments.This museum is located near Kishiwada Castle, a landmark of the area. If the timing is right, you may also be treated to the beautiful sight of cherry blossoms in full bloom, creating a picturesque setting that enhances the charm of your visit.After a day of exploration, we'll head to the hotel nestled within Wakayama Marina. It's a perfect base for exploring the marina, enjoying the nearby onsen, and visiting the fish market, all within walking distance.
Day 4: Wed. Apr 1 – SHIRAHAMA COGANOI RESORT & SPA (Onsen)
Today, our journey commences as we set our sights on Nanki Shirahama, a coastal haven in Wakayama Prefecture.
We’ll begin our day in Yuasa, known as the birthplace of soy sauce, one of Japan’s most iconic and flavorful condiments. At the Soy Sauce Brewery, you will have the opportunity to witness the traditional soy sauce-making process and see the impressive wooden barrels used for fermentation, preserving centuries of craftsmanship.Following this, we will enjoy a delightful fruit-picking experience. Blessed with Wakayama’s mild climate and fertile land, the region is famous for producing some of Japan’s finest seasonal fruits. Enjoy tasting fresh fruit right from the orchard — a perfect way to savor the flavors of the area. Next, we’ll explore a renowned Ume factory, where we’ll discover the world of Kishu Nanko Ume plums. These premium plums are celebrated for their large size, tender flesh, and delicate taste. When crafted into umeboshi (pickled plums), they become a melt-in-your-mouth delicacy that represents Wakayama’s rich agricultural heritage.After a day of cultural discovery, we’ll head to our hotel in Nanki Shirahama. Unwind in the relaxing hot springs and get ready for tomorrow’s journey.
Day 5: Thu. Apr 2 – SHIRAHAMA COGANOI RESORT & SPA (Onsen)
Today, we set off on an exciting journey to Adventure World, a unique theme park featuring an incredible array of animals, 140 species and over 1,400 individuals. From pandas and elephants to playful penguins, there’s something to delight every visitor. Be sure to catch one of the thrilling dolphin shows, a true highlight of the park.After enjoying the lively atmosphere of Adventure World, our journey continues to Nagisa Beer, a craft brewery established in 1996 in Nanki Shirahama. Known for its gentle aroma and smooth flavor, Nagisa Beer has earned acclaim both in Japan and internationally. With seasonal brews and labels that capture the charm of Shirahama, this local brewery offers a refreshing taste of the region. Next, we’ll visit Senjojiki, a stunning coastal rock formation shaped by the waves of the Pacific Ocean. Its wide, flat surface resembles thousands of tatami mats, giving it the name “Senjojiki.” Afterward, we’ll return to our hotel, reflecting on today’s memorable experiences.
Day 6: Fri. Apr 3 – MERCURE WAKAYAMA KUSHIMOTO RESORT AND SPA (Onsen)
This morning, our journey begins with a visit to Kaisen Senbei Nanki, a popular spot known for its freshly baked rice crackers. You can watch the senbei-making process through glass windows and sample over 40 varieties, including squid-topped senbei. It’s a great place to find a tasty souvenir unique to the region. Next, we’ll make our way to Toretore Ichiba Nanki Shirahama, the largest seafood market in western Japan. Operated by the local fishing cooperative, the market is known for its exceptional freshness and reasonable prices. You’ll find a wide variety of seafood from all over Japan, as well as regional specialties from Wakayama. Be sure to try a seafood bowl and savor the rich flavors of the ocean. Finally, before heading to our hotel in Kushimoto, we’ll stop at Hashigui Iwa, the Bridge-Piling Rocks — a striking row of natural rock pillars stretching into the sea. Resembling bridge posts, this scenic spot offers a dramatic view and a perfect photo opportunity at the southernmost point of Japan’s main island.We’ll then proceed to our hotel in Kushimoto, a peaceful seaside town where you can relax and reflect on today’s memorable experiences.
Day 7: Sat. Apr 4 – GRAND MERCURE ISE-SHIMA RESORT & SPA (Onsen)
This morning, we’ll head to the Whale Museum. This fascinating museum showcases a wealth of exhibits related to whales and whaling culture. Inside, you’ll find impressive whale skeletons, traditional whaling tools, dioramas illustrating historic whaling practices, and models of modern whaling harpoons and catcher boats. It’s a comprehensive introduction to the history of whaling in this region. Afterward, we will make our way to Nachi Falls, one of Japan’s most famous waterfalls and a sacred site deeply connected to the Kumano faith. With a height of 133 meters, Nachi Falls is Japan’s tallest single-drop waterfall and is revered for its spiritual significance and natural beauty. Visitors can admire the stunning view from the observation area and experience the serene atmosphere of this sacred site.In spring, the Nachisan area is beautifully adorned with cherry blossoms, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. If the timing is right, you may also have the rare opportunity to see the Kumano Zakura, a newly recognized species of wild cherry tree discovered in 2018 — the first new variety of wild cherry tree identified in Japan in over 100 years.
After a day full of exploration and cultural discovery, we will retreat to the comfort of our hotel, where you can relax and prepare for the adventures that await us tomorrow.
NOTE: Regarding Nachi Falls, we are considering a visit, but the decision will be based on the day's itinerary and conditions due to the considerable walking distance and the presence of steep slopes.
Day 8: Sun. Apr 5 – GRAND MERCURE ISE-SHIMA RESORT & SPA (Onsen)
Today, our journey begins with a visit to Yokoyama Observatory, a spectacular vantage point offering panoramic views of the intricate ria coastline of Ago Bay. From the spacious deck terrace, you can admire the breathtaking scenery of the bay dotted with numerous islands, a perfect way to appreciate the natural beauty of the Ise-Shima region. Next, we’ll visit an ama hut near the fishing grounds, where local female divers, known as "ama," have long practiced traditional free-diving. Gathered around a traditional irori hearth, we’ll enjoy freshly grilled seafood while listening to stories of their unique culture, history, and lifestyle. This is a wonderful opportunity to taste the flavors of Ise-Shima and connect with its rich maritime heritage. Finally, we’ll embark on a relaxing cruise from Kashikojima, the venue of the Ise-Shima G7 Summit. As we glide through the calm waters of Ago Bay, famous for its ria coastline, you’ll pass over 60 islands of varying sizes. Known for its pearl cultivation and scenic beauty, the bay offers a peaceful and picturesque cruising experience.After a day full of exploration and cultural encounters, we’ll return to the comfort of our hotel.
NOTE: Reaching the top of Yokoyama Observatory requires climbing steps. Activities may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
Day 9: Mon. Apr 6 – HOTEL VISON (Onsen)
This morning, our journey begins with a visit to Meoto-iwa (Wedded Rocks), two massive rocks firmly bound together by a sacred Shimenawa rope. These rocks are not only a symbol of marriage but also renowned as a symbol of matchmaking for couples. Next, we'll head to Mikimoto Pearl Island. Established in 1893, it was here that Mr. Kokichi Mikimoto achieved the world's first successful pearl cultivation. The island features a Pearl Museum where you can learn everything about pearls, a memorial hall that introduces the life of the Pearl King, and the Pearl Plaza, which includes shops and restaurants. You can also witness demonstrations by Ama divers, the traditional female pearl divers. To conclude our day, we'll head to a hotel that seamlessly combines a resort experience with commercial facilities. This hotel offers breathtaking views of the abundant nature surrounding the area. It's the perfect place to unwind and soak in the serene atmosphere for the next two nights.Tonight's dinner is planned to be Sukiyaki made with Matsusaka beef. This is an exquisite dining experience that you won't find elsewhere, and it promises to be a moment of pure indulgence.
Day 10: Tue. Apr 7 – HOTEL VISON (Onsen)
This morning, our journey begins with a visit to the Matsusaka Handwoven Cotton Center, where you’ll learn about Matsusaka cotton, famous for its indigo-dyed striped patterns that were popular among Edo-period commoners. Matsusaka also prospered as the hometown of wealthy merchants, known as Matsusaka Shonin, who played a key role in Japan’s commercial history. Following this, we’ll make our way to Ise Jingu, Japan’s most revered Shinto shrine with over 2,000 years of history. In spring, the shrine grounds are beautifully adorned with cherry blossoms, creating a peaceful and picturesque setting. After visiting the shrine, we’ll explore Okage Yokocho, a nostalgic street lined with Edo- and Meiji-era style buildings. With over 50 shops offering local foods, crafts, and souvenirs, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the flavors and traditions of Ise beneath the blooming sakura.
Day 11: Wed. Apr 8 – NAGOYA MARRIOTT ASSOCIA HOTEL
This morning, we head to Nagoya City to visit Nagoya Touken World / Nagoya Touken Museum, a new attraction opened in May 2024. This sword museum showcases Nagoya’s rich history with a collection of around 200 swords, samurai armor, ukiyo-e prints, and antique guns. Visitors can also enjoy life-sized armor displays, photo spots, and interactive exhibits — perfect for both beginners and sword enthusiasts.After our museum visit, we’ll stop by MEGA Don Quijote, a popular shopping spot offering an incredible variety of products — from souvenirs and local specialties to daily necessities and snacks. It’s a great place to pick up gifts or find something unique before continuing your journey. We’ll then return to the hotel, allowing you to enjoy the evening exploring local flavors and experiences at your leisure.
Day 12: Thu. Apr 9 – NAGOYA MARRIOTT ASSOCIA HOTEL
This morning, we'll visit SCMAGLEV and Railway Park, a museum dedicated to the evolution of Japanese high-speed rail. Here, you can explore exhibits from steam locomotives to superconducting maglev trains, focusing on the Shinkansen and the advancements in rail technology. Afterward, we'll make our way to the Aeon Shopping Mall for lunch and some shopping. Later, we'll return to the hotel for relaxation and to prepare for tomorrow's flight.(Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)
Day 13: Fri. Apr 10 – NAGOYA to HONOLULU
At checkout time the guide will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to the airport. After check-out we will head to Chubu Centrair International Airport, and board flight # to Honolulu. We will arrive at Honolulu in the same morning. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)

44-30 days prior: 50% cancel fee of the tour price, per person charge
29-15 days prior: 75% cancel fee of the tour price, per person charge
14 days prior or less: 100% cancel fee of the tour price, per person, no refund.

AIR TRANSPORTATION:
Air service within tours is included except for people buying the land portion only.

All clients are reminded that a valid passport is necessary in all cases.
